Albert-Gabriel Rigolot

Albert-Gabriel Rigolot, a French artist, was born November 28, 1862, in Paris and died April 25, 1932. He was a painter of landscapes, and worked with pastels. Rigolot is the father of Yves Rouvre. He was the student of Pelouse and of Allonge. He appeared at the Salon of French Artists from 1886, where he became a member in 1888. He obtained an honorable mention in 1889, a third place medal in 1891, a second place medal in 1892, and a silver medal in 1900 for the Universal Exposition. He was named a member of the Society of French Orientalists and made knight of the Legion of Honor in 1901. He is appreciated for his water landscapes, ponds and riverbanks, as well as for his views of Algeria. His works have been displayed in museums in Nancy, Paris, and Saint-Quentin.
