A Birmingham still-life painter; he was the son of George Clare and brother of Oliver Clare. His work is similar to that of the other two Clare’s, with detailed paintings of fruit, flowers, blossom and birds nests. There is no record of him exhibiting in London. His work is distinctly brighter than the other Clares.
