Anna Zinkeisen

Anna Zinkeisen was a twentieth century artist born August 28, 1901 in Kilereggan, Scotland. She studied fine art at the Royal Academy Schools in London, where she won several medals. In Paris, she exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in 1926, where she won a silver medal. She continually exhibited her paintings at the Royal Academy in London, Royal Scottish Academy, Redfern and other major galleries across Europe. She completed murals on the liners, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. She was the younger sister of well known contemporary artist and theatrical designer Doris Zinkeisen (1898 - 1991) Anna Zinkeisen passed away in 1976. Her work is represented in the National Portrait Gallery, Imperial War Museum and private collections worldwide
