Alfred Hayward
Alfred Robert Hayward was a portrait and landscape painter. He studied at
the Royal College of Art (1891-94) and at Slade School (1895-97). He
exhibited at the Paris Salon, the Royal Academy (23), and the New English
Art Club. He traveled extensively throughout Europe and in particular
Italy. He held an exhibition of his Venetian paintings at the Leicester
Gallery (London) in 1924. He was an official war artist from 1918-19.
