Sir William MacTaggart II P.R.S.A., R.A.,

Grandson of the artist, William McTaggart, Sir William McTaggart II was born in Loanhead, Scotland. He studied part-time at Edinburgh College of art and began annual visits to the South of France. Once he started to exhibit his works, he quickly became President of the Society of Scottish Artists, President of the Royal Scottish Academy and Trustee of the National Museum of Antiquities. Today his works hang in most Scottish public museums and in the Arts Council and Tate Gallery collections.
