Paul Jean Marie Sain

Paul Jean Marie Sain, a French artist, was born December 5, 1853, in Avignon and died March 6, 1908. He was a painter of landscapes and seascapes. Sain was the student of Guilbet, of Anelle and Gerome. He lived in Saint Cicery in the Orne, and then in the South of France. He debuted at the Salon of 1879 he received an honorable mention in 1883, a third-class medal in 1886, a bronze medal in 1889, a second-place medal in 1893, and a bronze medal in 1900 at the Universal Exposition of Paris. He was made knight of the Legion of Honor in 1895. His works have been displayed in museums in Alencon, Auxerre, Carpentras, Clermont, Paris, and Perpignan.
