Pierre Felix Fix-Masseau

Pierre Felix Fix-Masseau was born March 17, 1869 in Lyon and died in 1937 in Paris. The French artist was a sculptor of busts and figures and a painter of still lifes and flowers. He was a student of the Ecole des Beaux Arts of Paris. He traveled throughout Holland, Switzerland, and Italy especially Florence. He became director of the Ecole Nationale d'Art Decoratif of Limoges in 1935. He exhibited numerous works in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Francais, en in 1890 at the Societe des Beaux Arts, of which he became a member. He was made an officer of the Legion of Honor. He was at the time a renowned sculptor, famous for his busts, namely Anna de Noailles, but he was also famous for his decorative art inspirations. He favored the Art Nouveau style in creation of domestic objects such as vases, and chandeliers. His works have been displayed in museums in Lyon and Paris.
