Karl August Aerttinger

Born in Munich, Aerttinger studied at Augsberg with Klemens Zimmermann. He went on to exhibit works at the Munich Academy and after 1830 exhibited in Paris. His earlier works comprised of portraits and genre scenes, which he later abandoned for military subject matter.
