Joseph Thors

Joseph Thors was a 19th Century British painter of landscapes who exhibited his works with great success from 1863 to 1884 at the Royal Academy, the British Institution and the Society of British Artists at Suffolk Street. He is best known for his rustic country scenes with water, cottages, animals and figures in the landscape. He also exhibited in Birmingham between 1869 and 1900. His works can be found at National Gallery of Art, Washington; The Tate Gallery, London; The Cleveland Museum of Art; The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco; The Victoria and Albert Museum, London; The Bristol Museum; and in many other private and public collections.
